Since the improvements to the Meadowview route have been made, with the extra early evening buses, folk are feeling much happier. Thank you!
We would still wish to have a more frequent service later on in the evening and on Sundays. We would really like to see an improvement on the mid/late evening timetable at some point and with a better service now running earlier in the evening perhaps this will encourage more people to use the bus in the first place!
I have an attachment of the complaints that people put up on our Facebook from the earlier on in the year up until May 11th.
Another complaint did come through to our Facebook page recently …but I believe that your team has acknowlegded this already.
So, you will see that complaints are fewer and folk are on the whole not feeling that the service is as bad as it was before (bad as in no real time display, not many buses etc).
However I have to let you know that the Bristol Estate at the other end of the route have now begun to hold community meetings as they are very unhappy with their service to their estate.
Myself and another member of our Bus Focus group attended their last meeting and I have said that I will help them with a campaign to improve the service. I told them at their meeting that they need to ask the council for a more regular service and that it is the council who should be responsible for a large social housing estate to have a regular bus service.
I know that they wish to have another meeting very soon as sadly none of their ward councilors bothered turning up to their last meeting (even though one said that they would).Is there any news on the tender for the bus route?
When will you know whether you have been successful in securing the route for another period? When will this become public knowledge?
Thankyou for the extra early evening buses. And we all hope that this will lead eventually into busier buses and perhaps sometime soon more frequent later evening and Sunday buses.

Thanks for this update on things and I’m pleased to hear that most residents are now much happier with the service. We have been told verbally that the contract will be extended but are still awaiting formal confirmation of this and until we receive this we cannot officially announce it. Unfortunately at the moment there is unlikely to be any improvement to the evening or Sunday service since the council are not willing to fund this. The evening service still runs at a considerable loss and we are currently discussing this with the council.
I am rather surprised that Bristol Estate are now unhappy with the service since I’ve not heard much from them previously and the buses that serve them are the same as the ones to Meadowview. As always if I have specific details of complaints then I can look into them but general comments about unreliability are hard to investigate. I had less than a weeks notice of their previous meeting so was unable to attend but will certainly endeavour to go to the next one and will continue to work to resolve any problems.
